Attractive family farmhouse in rural Yorkshire.

Brief

To build a family home in a rural area of North Yorkshire. The house would be situated amongst a number of farm buildings and the final build had to be in keeping with its rural surroundings.

LGSF had previously supplied a plantroom to the client, to house a biomass heating system. The client was impressed with the speed and accuracy of the build and asked LGSF to re-specify the design to replace the proposed timber framed building they had in mind for their house. 

Solution

LGSF worked closely with the client’s architect and designed a steel framed solution incorporating all architectural details, previously in the proposed timber frame, maintaining the traditional farmhouse style. 

From initial design brief to completion took 18 weeks, fulfilling the need to complete within a tight timeframe. The steel frame was clad in stone to be in keeping with the surrounding farm buildings and rural area.
