LGSF has been providing solutions in steel for over 30 years.

The family-owned business began at Sherburn Forge in a small village, north of the Yorkshire Wolds. Lee Cade, supported by father, Chris Cade, founded Sherburn Forge together, designing and fabricating architectural railings, small fabrication works and maintenance works.

The business quickly expanded and began working within the M&E sector, and in 2006 Lee and his brother Ian Cade launched Modular Plantrooms to satisfy the growing requirements of the industry, designing and fabricating bespoke plantrooms, access platforms, Unistrut modules and services risers – along with specialist and bespoke structural steelwork.

As a natural progression, Ian Cade expanded the business into the production of cold rolled framing in 2008. LGSF was formed to offer cold rolled steel solutions generally for the construction sector, offering modular buildings, supplying pre-panelised 3D units, pre-assembled panels and self-assembly sections to modular builders, and building contractors.

Today, still managed by Lee and Ian Cade, LGSF and Modular Plantrooms are a leading suppliers of self-assemble and pre-assembled panels, as well as volumised light gauge steel modules and Modular Plantrooms continues to specialise in the design and fabrication of bespoke modular plantrooms tailored to meet your specific needs.

The business now has capacity to manufacture over 10 million linear meters of steel and assemble over 2.5million square meters of panel every year. Some of this steel is dedicated to house building, with LGSF having the capacity to roll steel for over 15.000 homes for people every year.
