We’d like to officially welcome Erin Wray to the LGSF team. Erin is our new Apprentice Draughtsperson and joins us having recently completed her GSCE examinations at Norton College.
As part of our ongoing commitment to nurturing young talent and supporting local career pathways, we recently welcomed candidates from a number of local schools and colleges to experience life in a fast-paced design and manufacturing environment within the construction industry. Erin was one of the young people who attended the event.
The initiative, aimed at recruiting a new Apprentice Draughtsperson, offered students aged 16 and over a valuable opportunity to gain real insight into our design and manufacturing processes. Over the course of the week, candidates took part in practical exercises and hands-on tasks designed to reflect the day-to-day work of our design team at LGSF.
Erin, who completed college in June, joined us on 14th July and will undertake an Engineering Design Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship, working alongside our experienced team on live customer projects, and will receive regular support from T3 Training & Development throughout her learning journey.
Daley Wharton, our Draughting Manager, who recently celebrated his 16th year with LGSF, shared his enthusiasm for Erin’s arrival:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Erin to the team. The Apprentice Draughtsperson role offers a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on experience with real projects from day one. What makes our work unique is the combination of hot and cold rolled steel in many of our designs, which adds variety and technical depth to the role. I’m confident Erin will find the work both challenging and rewarding, and we’re committed to supporting her development every step of the way.”
