This week, North Yorkshire honoured its leading enterprises at the annual “Top 100” business awards – a celebration of innovation, resilience, and economic impact in the region.
Among the standout winners was LGSF, which took home the award for Manufacturing SME of the Year. The rankings, judged on key business metrics including turnover, profit, growth rate, and staff headcount, highlight the strength of companies headquartered in York and North Yorkshire.
Now in its eighth year, the event is sponsored by York Business School at York St John University, along with The York Press and LocaliQ, and continues to spotlight the success stories that are driving the region forward.
Ian Cade, Technical Director, and Rebecca Atkinson, Group Finance Manager, accepted the award on behalf of LGSF. Speaking at the event, Ian Cade credited the company’s recent growth and recruitment drive to its unwavering focus on customer service, despite external pressures from budgets and tariffs.
LGSF’s customers include major hotel chains Travelodge and Premier Inn, who rely on its innovative prefabricated ‘toilet pods’. The company is also behind one of its largest projects to date – helping to supply 3,500 homes for those in need across the UK.
This accolade not only recognises LGSF’s resilience and performance, but also its contribution to the local economy and its role in addressing national housing needs.
